FBS Mission Statement:

We at FBS believe that offensive coordinator Bryan Stinespring bears the largest share of the blame for years of sub-par output from some of the most talented players ever to set foot on Worsham Field. We believe the main objective of the VT football program - a national championship - will escape us as long as Stinespring is making the calls. We therefore advocate the improvement of our football program through the replacement of our offensive coordinator.

Shots Fired On Campus With Confirmed Fatalities

There are confirmed reports of gunshots fired on campus at VT with a police officer and another victim confirmed dead. At this time the suspect remains at large. He's described as a white male wearing grey sweatpants, a maroon hoodie, and a gray hat with neon green brim.

If you are anywhere near campus, go inside, lock your door, and stay there.

UPDATE: Everyone already knows this I'm sure, but the lockdown is over. I'm hearing that the second victim might have been the shooter but I don't think this has been confirmed.

To our readers on campus, please just give a quick shout in the comments to let me know you're all right.

This is seriously getting ridiculous! SO WHAT if the alert systems have improved. They absolutely need to beef up security there.

No matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you cannot protect yourself from a lone gunman who decides to shoot without provocation.

Not unless you're willing to live in North Korea.

IH is correct. Too many variables.

It just makes me wonder if they should make heavily armoured (bullet-proof) vehicles available to the public AS WELL as bullet-proof fabrics in everyday clothing. That should cut down on some of those f-king psychos.

Making better armor available to the public would just result in more dangerous weapons/ammo becoming available. Would you want and armored and armed robber breaking into your house knowing that the standard 9mm you have won't cut it? Nope, you get a bigger gun with armor-piercing ammo. That's what would become available if everyone had bullet-proof clothing. It's a nice thought, just not very realistic.

Peace through superior firepower (or superior defenses) doesn't work. It just propagates an arms race.

Well, switching back to football, I checked twitter & DW...f-k yea! seems to be in good spirits for NOLA. He recently found out that he won the Dudley Award (highest collegiate honor in VA football college sports named after "Bullet" Bill Dudley) and was named an All-American. Players from Tech have won the award most years.

Also, Danny "Ninja" Coale & Chris DragerStrike (it should be DRAGERSTRIKE and BOYKINBOMB) were named as Academic All-Americans. So SUCK IT Swofford and ACC "honorable" mentions.

Hey IH, I was perusing through the past. Remember this?

"2.) The removal of Mike O'Cain as QB coach. O'Cain has demonstrated nothing to make me believe he is an adequate successor to Kevin Rogers. Rogers, of course, left large shoes to fill. But Mike O'Cain began his career at Tech with the suspect decision to make Sean Glennon the starting QB, ahead of more mobile threats in Cory Holt and Ike Whitaker. It's gone downhill since then."

Lol! We've been on here a long time.

I really think on duty cops should have some kind of bullet vest under their uniform at all times. It'd be extreme for students buy and wear one but cops are always in the line of fire when on duty. Lots of people hate cops.

I think a lot of cops do wear vests while on duty, Charlie. I've been watching a lot of Alaska State Troopers lately and actually noticed them wearing vests the other day. I think it's probably a good idea, unfortunately a vest wouldn't have done anything for Crouse.

Hmmm, so far Tech has sold less than 10k of their 17k allotment tickets for NOLA...

LuvzAznChix said...

Wow, I didn't realize how bad TSL was until I reviewed their "updated" rules and policies. I closed my account with those idiots.

Jonesy said...

LAC, the reason Tech hasn't sold many tickets is because there are better seats available for less money on Stubhub. You won't see Tech sell its allotment until the rest of the tickets are sold out. This is why schools usually lose money by going to BCS bowls, even though there's a huge payout.

Jonesy, ok. I'm just saying, we've already been receiving a lot of crap from the media and rejected schools for our selection. If there's one thing that HAS been consistent about tech over the past two decades it has been the fans (students, alumni, etc) which is why we were chosen for NOLA. It would be all for nought if we couldn't even sellout our allotment. Imagine the shit we'd get for that

LuvzAznChix said...

Oh, DW, Hoseley & DiChristopher all selected as All-Americans!
