FBS Mission Statement:

We at FBS believe that offensive coordinator Bryan Stinespring bears the largest share of the blame for years of sub-par output from some of the most talented players ever to set foot on Worsham Field. We believe the main objective of the VT football program - a national championship - will escape us as long as Stinespring is making the calls. We therefore advocate the improvement of our football program through the replacement of our offensive coordinator.

SERIOUSLY WHO THE FUCK IS GOING TO KICK FOR US???

Kicker Tyler Weiss has been sent back to Roanoke by bus from New Orleans, thanks to missing a 1 AM team curfew.

Unbe-goddam-lievable.

Beamer said Meyer will. So they go for it a lot on 4th down and short. He also said something about giving the other 2 punters a chance to work their way back into a punting job. That should be fine, when they punt from the mu 25 they can shank it and let it go out of bounds at the 5.

Musky11 said...

Well I see wf has brought the acc back to 2-2 in bowl games. Miss St had 4 turnovers to boot. That is choice.

Charlie said...

watch our game come down to a last second field goal opportunity. This doesn't look good. Our only hope is that our offense scores enough touchdowns or the defense gets enough turnovers.

Guys more bad news. I know this was posted a little while ago on Key Play but I feel I should post it to show you just how "serious" Stinehole is taking his task of scheming for this game. Read this:

"It's the defense stupid. That's the main reason for Michigan's turnaround in 2011. You can see the trend quickly in chart form courtesy of /r/cfb. If you'd prefer long-ish form Andy Bitter has you covered.

'Oft-criticized defensive coordinator Greg Robinson had never run the 3-3-5 scheme former coach Rich Rodriguez preferred and was forced to work with many of the assistants Rodriguez brought with him in 2009-10. The Wolverines' defense, which had always been stout under ex-coach Lloyd Carr, dropped from 24th nationally in Carr's final season to 82nd, 67th and 110th in Rodriguez's three years.

Enter Mattison, who used to coach at Michigan, Notre Dame and, most recently, the NFL's Baltimore Ravens from 2008-10.

A proponent of the 4-3 defense, Mattison's scheme better suited Michigan's personnel, with defensive lineman Mike Martin (54 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 3 sacks) and Ryan Van Bergen (41 tackles, 12 TFls, 5 sacks) starring up front.

"They present a lot of problems," Stinespring said. "I think they play to their strengths, they're very physical up front, they've got a lot of size."

That's aided by the complexity of their scheme. With Mattison being a former NFL coordinator, Michigan's defensive playbook appears to be much deeper than that of most colleges.

"It's almost like they've got a different playbook for second-and-long and third down," Stinespring said.

Michigan has no shortage of blitzes.

"There's a million of them, and in several different packages," Stinespring said. "And you know that not all of them could come in every single game. ...

"There's a 20-hour [practice] rule being broken somewhere," he joked.

And that's the matchup that worries me the most, our offensive line handling Michigan's front-seven. It seems like we're able to stop superior size xor scheme. Clemson had better athletes and beat us mentally, twice. Stanford did the same in last year's Orange Bowl with their NFL scheme and blitzes. The guys up front will all have to have career games for us to win."

He's got a HUGE bowl game with a former NFL dc to prepare against and he's JOKING AROUND!?!?!? I swear...sometimes...

PJ & the YellowJackoffs have pretty much lost their composure against Utah. ACC 2-3?

LuvzAznChix said...

Yup, ACC 2-3. GT has ZERO D'.

LuvzAznChix said...

Here's some VERY minor positive news. Again it's from Key Play, but go ahead and read:

"Bud Foster and Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges are familiar with each other. Borges called the plays for Auburn's three-headed monster of Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams and Jason Campbell in the 2005 Sugar Bowl against Tech. The Hokies D held the Tigers to 16 points, 17 less than their season average. (It might be the only Tech game where I wished we had kicked field goals instead of going for touchdowns.) Borges is basing this year's gameplan, in part, on what Clemson did to attack Tech, any sane coach would.

"They're a good team, well coached, and they're going to give us all we want," Borges said. "Hopefully, not more than we want."

There was one team in particular, though, that was able to find the soft spot in the Hokies' defense, and that was the lone team that beat them this year.

Clemson defeated Virginia Tech twice, and did it in impressive fashion. The Tigers won 23-3 on Oct. 1, and again, 38-10, in the ACC title game earlier this month.

Borges said he's dissected the game film from those routs, and saw one significant weakness he plans to attack.
“(Clemson) got on the perimeter a few times," Borges said. "They got in the open field on them, and Clemson's got some pretty athletic kids. With anybody, if you can get some athletes in space, you have a good chance for success."

Obviously if Denard gets into space bad things are going to happen."

Pretty basic butmakes me feel a little more optimistic for Bud & Co. Anybody no anything on the update in terms of injuries & the health of the men on our D' unit???

Musky11 said...

uva now makes the acc 2-4. Another poor year for the acc. If wvu shows up the conference will go 2-6. LACs post on the mu D....sounds like that are quite capable of shredding our o line. Why not duke did.

Can Wilson run for a 100?

LuvzAznChix said...

If CFB is bringing the 2 punters back, I'd prefer Branthover as the lesser of 2 evils, but I wouldn't be surprised if ol' fat fuckface Beamer gets proud, puts his head up his ass AGAIN, puts Demler in there & sticks with him till the 4th qtr.

As far as the interview post of Stinehole I put up earlier, in response to the "20 hr practice rule" joke he made...EVERONE knows that 20 hours is probable the TOTAL amount of hours he's prepared for ANYTHING during his ENTIRE tenure as OC. IDIOT!!!

Flipping through the bowl games today and watching O's like MSU, Oregon, and that bulldozer line of UW...makes me sorry that I am a VT fan. Our O sucks and they will do nothing to change for next year. I have this terrible feeling that we will be trashed tomorrow night. Like lsu trashed us.

Maybe they can get something going with the receivers. I really see no chance for Wilson. Once again, I will be into the brown stuff and will take no responsibility after the 1st qtr.

LAC, I heard you were walking on for punting duties! IH you ever play soccer?

I have been wrong many times and I hope this is one of them.

The Weiss thing just make me belive that they are preparing as always and will show up flat. Maybe it is because the are stuck in B'burg all winter!!!!???

Charlie said...

Field goals are such an integral part to the game and often makes the difference as I just saw in the Fiesta bowl just now.

Fact is, as of now we don't have a proven field goal kicker and our offense is notorious for dumb play calls, a terrible O line, not showing up, and the same overall predictable dumb game plan against every good out of conference opponent.

Actually, I don't even know if they even watch video and develop any kind of strategy. I don't mean to sound pessimistic but last year's orange bowl and this year's ACC Championship loss is still causing me to be one. I hope for a good game, I'm pumped so far despite being skeptical!

Higgy said...

Trading FGs for TDs would have gotten us blown out anyway. We NEED to play like we have no kicker. That's the ONLY way to force some aggressive play-calling.

V1P3R said...

Don't forget about Boise, Alabama, Kansas, LSU, California, etc.

My prediction: If we have better athletes - we win. If not, we have hit a glass ceiling.

Musky11 said...

V1P3R......good point. I think we hit that glass ceiling in 2000 and were never to capitalize on it.

Higgy said...

JMU beat us WITHOUT better atheletes. Duke almost did it this year. Coaching, scheming, and preparing is a bigger deal than most think.

Musky11 said...

At least LT made the cover of CFN, http://cfn.scout.com/. Check out the story on UW hitting the glass ceiling. Insert VT and the article is still correct.

Musky11 said...

Who is wearing what unis?

V1P3R said...

Did ya'all see the Auburn vs Virginia game? They let loose and beat a Virginia team that was close athletic wise. Virginia just flat got out-coached. Oh ya! Auburn was fun to watch, too.

How many three-and-outs will we see tonight? Which VT team will show up? Remember, it's a BIG GAME on National TV and Stiney is OC and Newsome is a O-Line coach.

LuvzAznChix said...

Hey IH, why the hell did you not take the time to put up a preview?? You had plenty of time bruh. Have we pretty much created one ourselves in our chat discussions? Lol

Charlie said...

I guess the game preview will occur during the first quarter in about 2.5 hours. Almost game time!

Musky11 said...

Just heard cfb on the radio. Same old rethoric.

Big plays:

VT 2
Mu 7

Our oline will not help wilson he will get 47 yrds and hop to the nfl. Oh well, it was a great run with the 3 horsemen.

The d will try but eventuslly wear the hell down.

Stinehole will get a raise and Foster will take the HCJ @ Gardner Webb. But before leaving B'burg he finds Stinehole in a bar and beats the crap out of him. Newsome trys to help and gets his ass kicked too.

Weaver gives beamer an extension through 2025.

In 2018 the story breaks that Stineburgerstine went Sandusky over the last 15 years and the program is reduced to Div III status. Beamer is dismissed to retirement with his 30 mill in South Carolina.

Just now Beamer said they need to start winning these games...no shit sherlock!

Right now I am listening to Tech Talk Tuesday and at least they are somewhat subjective. They still will not tell it exactly the way it is.

Bill Roth is up next the true zenith of Tech bullshit. Boy can he spin it!

BTW, I hope all this bs that was spewed in truly that.

Hope for the best but expect nothing. Go HOKIES!

Don't know if anyone saw this, but liked the candor & emotion coming from Bud:

I’m really kind of agitated about it, to be honest with you. Everybody is talking about us, but Michigan is ranked lower than we are. Nobody is saying crap about them when it’s all said and done. Instead of talking about how we’ve made it, and we’re an up-and-coming football program, a young, exciting team. Instead of talking about that, all they’re doing is bitching we got in the bowl game. There have been other years we probably deserved to go and we didn’t go. And so it just — it’s just agitating, it really is. It’s a shame for the kids. Here you’ve got people that half of them don’t even know what the hell they’re talking about, but that’s what it is. I’m agitated at all media personnel right now. It just pissed me off, to be honest with you. It just pissed me off. Excuse my language, but it did.

Charlie's right. We may be pessimistic about the coaching leadership of our team. But we're so much more than a watchdog group. We're freaking HOKIES! And right now we need to pull for the Men that are taking the field against the wolvies AND for the coaches that are putting our men in the best position and place to make plays and succeed. We're Hokies, win or lose, health or injury, good coaches or bad coaches (tho' we don't need to support the incompetent coaches). Let's do this shit!

LuvzAznChix said...

Can I just say, IH, HJB WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU DUDES!?!?!? Just post up the open thread for LT's sake!!!

Hokies_All_Day said...

Keep our D rested and good things will come from it.

LuvzAznChix said...

A few thoughts as the 1st qtr comes to a close: 1) notice how there's absolutely ZERO blocking schemes or holes being opened for DW...F-K YEA! 2) it could be worse but it should be @ least 10-0 3) good job keeping d. rob off the field 4) gotta stop with these 3rd and longs & try to get a 1st within 2 dwns.

Shane said...

Kickers? We don't need no stinkin' kickers!

Hokies_All_Day said...

Field Goals are not going to win this one Frank.

LuvzAznChix said...

I'm paying particular attention to the line tonight. Offense and playcalling are still crappy as they get closer to the endzone. Blocking needs to be better. So far Myer is clutch.

Shane said...

Agreed, but take the points. D is resting & Bud is scheming. Or so I hope.

Shane said...

Denard is taking some punishment.

Shane said...

Bud has these guys on FIRE!!

Shane said...

YEEEEEEEESSS!

Shane said...

At least our O is rested, right?

LuvzAznChix said...

They say that 2nd & 14 could've been a big completion, I say with the tipped ball Fuller could've plucked it out of the air for an INT. Good pressure from the D. Hope to see some more consistent playcalling and composure from our front line on this next series to convert into higher points particularly in the paydirt.

Should have kicked there as up by 9 is better than giving them some confidence.

Just hold 'em scoreless before the half...and then we can adjust into a non-losing gameplan, right?

Hokies_All_Day said...

I just don't understand why Beamer keeps going for blocks this year. Have we had any blocks on punts this year? I can't remember though it might be the alcohol

Musky11 said...

Iknow when they will run it and so does the whole world

and great spesul teams.

Shane said...

That would be no.

Higgy said...

Are u fukking kidding me??!!?? Really? ?? I can coach retarded children not to do that ...

Shane said...

YES.

Shane said...

How the fuck?

LuvzAznChix said...

Whoever says that CFB coaches discipline and composure obviously doesn't watch the bowl games we play in.

Hokies_All_Day said...

This one is on Beamer and his fucking special teams.

Shane said...

Use the time remaining to score.

Hokies_All_Day said...

Fuck this I'm going to bed. Beamer=fired

LuvzAznChix said...

There goes one of the big plays that our D usually gives up during the game. Overpursuit from the secondary. It's been an entire half and our team has not even been to the endzone. Scratch that. The last time our O kissed paydirt was the 1st half (2nd qtr) of the ACCCG. Momentum shifts to wolvies.

Higgy said...

Frank is a fucking dumbass.

LuvzAznChix said...

Beamer does a HORRIBLE job at coaching and preparing the speshul teams unit for fake plays like that. He ALWAYS has been weak and incompetent in that area.

Musky11 said...

How fucking typical was that the first half? Fuck tech and the offence.

LuvzAznChix said...

Well, time to see what adjustments (if ANY) are made by CFB & our offensive staff to put our players in position to not only make plays, but also succeed and score. I can already tell that Stinehole had a large portion to do in "planning" and "scheming" for this game. Except for that big play at the end of the half I'm proud of the way Foster and our D have prepared for this game.

Musky11 said...

Fuck Us!

Charlie said...

Wow, it's amazing what Beamerball has turned into. It's more of a liability now more than anything. They ran into the kicker in the Clemson game and they did it again in this game. I'd say just stop doing it at all, we have not blocked a punt at all. It's only worth it if we block more punts than get running into the kicker penalties. It's way too risky. Beamer has got to stop doing that.

The rest of the special teams looks like a joke except for the field goal kicking....so far.

Musky11 said...

Bud do the deal. Fuck stinehole.

LuvzAznChix said...

I bet that CFB is paying DW back for exposing and revealing the flaws of the ACCCG scheme to the media. Remember when I said Beamer wouldn't have them open any holes for him. Well, just look at the 1st half.

LuvzAznChix said...

Despite the situation and loss of momentum this is STILL a winnable game. The staff (Bud excluded) just needs to pull their collective heads out of each others' asses and make the necessary adjustments. I haven't given up yet.

Musky11 said...

Ok we get the Ko let DW run it back.Fuck that fumbling shit hole who will be our tb next year gregory. Turb burgler.

Shane said...

I can't even imagine the pressure that *should* be on our coaching staff right now. As hacked off as we are at home, imagine all our traveling, money-toting fans who are flabbergasted in the stands right now? Christ. We were controlling the game up until the punt block fiasco. Why? Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick!

Hokies_All_Day said...

LuvzAznChix said...

I'm wearing my NO BS FBS t-shirt WITH PRIDE!!!

Musky11 said...

Please O line as shitty as you are open one lane for DW.

Shane said...

We need a time-sucking, ball-hogging drive with a TD to start the 2nd half. Seriously. Anything less than that is defeat.

LuvzAznChix said...

The coaching staff KNOWS they can't hide behind the "players aren't executing" excuse any longer.

Shane said...

We need to cut the penalties shit too.

LuvzAznChix said...

Have to say I agree with the ANALysts on this one. UM's secondary isn't matching up well with our WRs. We should continue to take advantage and exploit that weakness. That'll open up holes for DW & Oglesby.

Shane said...

Our gameplan (if we have one) shouldn't change drastically. Things were working. Let's not go all Kansas on us.

Hokies_All_Day said...

Way to be Jayron

Shane said...

JAYRON!!!

LuvzAznChix said...

That pick MIGHT get overturned depending on how long the stripes review it.

LuvzAznChix said...

Shane, you can chalk up the penalties to coaching also.

Shane said...

Yep.

Shane said...

Nice sack.

Hokies_All_Day said...

Hey Frank let them punt.

Shane said...

Jeez.

Hokies_All_Day said...

Wow what a play

Charlie said...

This offense sucks, I'm not coming to another game once I graduate until we either win this game or the offensive coaches are fired.

LuvzAznChix said...

That is gonna KILL LT's confidence and composure for the rest of the game, as it will the rest of the offense (and maybe even the team).

Hokies_All_Day said...

That was just a great play. Another bad play call however

Musky11 said...

LT great move fuck off. I am sick of the same old shit.

Shane said...

The fix is in.

Musky11 said...

Fuck the entire O coaches and all.

Hokies_All_Day said...

Penalties+BeamerBall=Stick a fork in em.

LuvzAznChix said...

Well you can DEFINITELY tell that the O doesn't have any confidece. Also, did you see Beamer's expression? You can tell he REALLY depends on at least a call or two to go Tech's way. Here's where the rest of the team loses composure & UM slowly begins to take control of the game.

LuvzAznChix said...

Conservative playcalling, FG. Better than nothing, but not good enough.

Musky11 said...

Everyone in the fucking world says that the mu D backfield in weak...how may fucking shots have we taken downfield...butt squat. Fuck you beamer.

Joe Hokie said...

So the story of the game was the problem with the kickers -- so VT has to prove that it overcame that problem by using the kicker exclusively to score all its points? Really? I'll bet Stinehole is really proud of that game plan!

LuvzAznChix said...

Key D stop on 3rd down. 3 min left in 3rd qtr

Until we win games like these REGARDLESS of officiating we will NEVER get respect.

LuvzAznChix said...

So EVERYONE, you might as well STFU about the officiating because WE ALL KNOW that there's not a DAMN THING on earth we can do about it! There's only something our PROGRAM can do about it...they can actually WIN these games REGARDLESS of officiating. ONLY THEN will our team receive fairer officiating in games. Until then, there's NOTHING you, I, anybody or even THEY can do about it. So just STFU about the officiating. Focus & HONE your anger on Steger, Weaver, the high paying alumni AND CFB so we can make the ABSOLUTE changes necessary.

Nit-Whitt said...

184 to 377. Bud holds them to 184 yds!!! And we loose because CFB outsmarted himself. How many yds did Wilson get up the middle? How many did he get outside? Why can't we see the success we had and...I dont know...call the play again. Oh...5 redone trips...5! One touchdown!!! 1!!! Officials didn't help, certainly agree with posters in that front...but our stupidity lost that game. The officials just made sure we weren't going to pull off a miracle.

LuvzAznChix said...

Hokies, this is NOT a time to give up or shy away. THIS is a time to be RELENTLESS in our aggressions for the changes desperately NEEDED & REQUIRED in this program. Continue. We CAN do this.

Plus how do you call 9+ years of disappointment (enter: Stiney) as fair weather?

Why can't we see the success we had and...I dont know...call the play again. Oh...5 redone trips...5! One touchdown!!! 1!!! Officials didn't help, certainly agree with posters in that front...but our stupidity lost that game. The officials just made sure we weren't going to pull off a miracle.

Anyone know Beamer or Weaver's address? I heard Beamer lives over by the country club somewhere. Want to send him a letter or occupy his front yard. Who's with me?

JK about that...but he needs to retire.

V1P3R, BUST IT!!! BREAK IT!!!

A fave quote from one of my fave movies Kill Bill, Vol. 4: Quote from the character Pai Mei: "What if your enemy is three inches in front of you, what do you do then? Curl into a ball? Or do you PUT YOUR FIST THROUGH HIM?"

A flaw in Beamer's coaching scheme & preparation is that he relies too hevaily on favorable calls from the officials. Has ALWAYS been an ineffective method of his.

A flaw in coaching execution in the 2nd half: notice in the 4th qtr how the offense dragged their asses getting down the field to score their first td. Notice how they did NOT play with a sense of urgency. Did not pick up the pace and keep Michigan's D on their heels??? Failure on the coaching staff to put their players in a position to win. Textbook example.

Another thing, I never see Frank get mad or grill the players when they screw up.

Like during clock management, the team slacks down the field wasting clock. You don't see Beamer there on the sideline flipping out telling them to move their ass.

Franks "who farted?" face doesn't count either. He just looks always confused which doesn't look on a coach. Look at Bud Foster or Nick Saban for an example of the traits I'm talking about that we need in a great coach

I would hurl eggs AND objects at CFB if it weren't for the fact that his son is there.

Next year will be the same old story going on year 7 of following the hokies. They will win 10 games given their cup cake schedule, go to the ACC, maybe win it or blow it again and then go to a good bowl and:

1. Win it if it's against an unranked weak opponent (like Cincinnatti 2009 or Tennessee 2010
2. Lose if it's against a ranked opponent.

This is the nature of the program. Statistics don't lie. Nothing will change until Frank is gone.
