Lost in all this hoopla with a near blog war between FBS and Kyle Tucker..............
........is that we're all Hokies too. Staunch supporters. We're not actually rooting for VT to lose, just so that we can say, "Fire Bryan Stinespring". We sure as hell want to win, and want to win badly, and want to win big. And we want GT to lose to Wake, and we want to somehow backdoor our way into another ACC-CG, and we want to win that, and we want to win the Orange Bowl [this is where I'd normally type, "despite Stinespring's efforts" or something like that]. But the point is, we're all still Hokies too, rooting for the team now, and looking for a better tomorrow. Can we agree to disagree on the manner in which we get to that better tomorrow, at least on the offensive coordinatorship to get there?
So, I want to join everyone together here in the one common theme we all have if you're on this site, whether writing, reading, agreeing, disagreeing, WHATEVER. There's a game tonight. And I want to win. And I want to win by 60.
LET'S GO!!
HO KIES!!
Pick up the pace Bryan. Channel your inner-Miami-game, or your inner-BC-game.

FBS Mission Statement:
We at FBS believe that offensive coordinator Bryan Stinespring bears the largest share of the blame for years of sub-par output from some of the most talented players ever to set foot on Worsham Field. We believe the main objective of the VT football program - a national championship - will escape us as long as Stinespring is making the calls. We therefore advocate the improvement of our football program through the replacement of our offensive coordinator.

Lets go Hokies.
I would love us to blow out ECU.
I can't wait to see what Hater Dinich has to say about her game prediction.
I posted this on another blog earlier today:
VT is #73 in offense playing against competition that averages #36 in defense. VT is #29 in defense playing against competition that averages #64 offensively. ECU is #80 in offense playing against competition that averages #67 in defense. ECU is #60 in defense playing against competition that averages #83 in offense.
We should dominate. Go Hokies!
This is a response to the Bull and Bones dud and what needs to be done. *You* have to step up to the plate and ask the cutting questions that demand answers. If you want the change, get the ball rolling. Don't sit around and wait for someone else to do it. It takes guts, for sure, but if you're really convinced about this, speak up! Or else everyone else will collectively wuss out like it seems happened. I wish I wasn't so far from the burg with a schedule that doesn't permit me to make trips.
Another thought - one thing I am almost convinced is out of reach with Stinespring is a win over a good SEC team. We are continually "shown" by the SEC teams we play that we're not in their league, and that needs to change ASAP. If we want to overcome one of our biggest program walls, we need to play on their level. This cannot happen with a lower quartile ranked offense.
Can't we all just get along?
So much for the offense showing up for the ECU game.
Whohoo another hokie game with no scoring for 2 full quarters. I don't know how a non-hokie fan would even want to watch our games. Vt coaches preach consistency, but Stiney is the most inconsistent OC in the history of football. He stays away from successful strategy and calls 10 stinescreens in one half.
LOL No Jess that was strictly in response to HJB's original post. Didn't even bother to read the responses before commenting.
Oh OK LOL good, I was re-reading my comment to see what could have been misread! :)
ECU game anchor quote to sum up this game, and the past (at least) 4 years: "..The Hokies have only had one touchdown, but that has been sufficient thanks to a great defensive effort."
You know... between Tyrod's ability to scramble and Ryan's ability to break tackles, they're making Stiney look a lot better than he's worth.
What a game Stiney called! 16 points against a game team like ECU. He got us 17 against UNC and 23 against GT, but the defense blew it. Whats up with the defense this year? Giving up that late drive for 3 with under 2 minutes in the first half almost cost us the game if it would not of been for Stiney's great play calling to get us 16 points. Great job. Lets give Stine the coach in waiting!
Well, at least we get out of ECU with a "W" but how many times this year have we been in field goal range only to end up punting because of a penalty or a sack?

I thought I fell a sleep at one point, but no way that is possible with such riveting play calling. Lets give Stine the coach in waiting. Teams are lining up to lure him away and we would not want a young great football mind like that get out of Blacksburg! Eat your heart out Kyle Tucker!
Sorry for the double post. I thought my password was not working, but it sent my post before I was done editing. I am not as smart at the internet as Stiney is at play calling.
Jess,
Anyone who personally confronts Beamer and the football offices about that as in publicly discloses their name (not anonymously) and protests Stiney being the OC risks being blacklisted by the football offices and athletic dept. As in you will have a tough time being allowed to own season tickets if you try and buy them in your name. That is a pretty big price to pay for most people. Most Hokie fans are not that hardcore. Honestly, most Hokie fans are fair weather fans. There are not many female Hokie fans that know much about the team outside of Beamer and a few players and care as much as you do.
hokiescoot, you failed to execute at internetting.
I just do not see how coaches can blame this kind of poor offensive performance to poor execution? Surely there were some plays, like the dropped pitch, that were poor execution, but running Williams in the narrow side of the field and expecting to get the 1st down..c-mon man.
I like the passes to the flats, that's something almost new to me. Of course after the 4th one the opposing D learned to recognize and almost intercepted. I hope we now start learning screen passes, the few we tried did not work, then we might be more productive on O.
All in all a big fat F for Stiney, because against better teams we will not even score 16 with that kind of play calling.
