FBS Mission Statement:

We at FBS believe that offensive coordinator Bryan Stinespring bears the largest share of the blame for years of sub-par output from some of the most talented players ever to set foot on Worsham Field. We believe the main objective of the VT football program - a national championship - will escape us as long as Stinespring is making the calls. We therefore advocate the improvement of our football program through the replacement of our offensive coordinator.

Surprise! Surprise! We lose the TOP badly, the offense does nothing for 2.5-3 quarters, we struggle to get a 1st down and

then when the game has already basically been decided the brakes/handcuffs are taken off of the offense and it looks like an unstoppable juggernaut. Most people will blame the defense entirely for this GT loss, and I am not saying they are entirely without blame, but the majority of the fault for this loss hangs on the offense or you know who's head... Run left, run middle, run right almost every play. GT knew what was coming and they cheated many players up into the box to stop it. Our talent is under utilized. Boone and Andre Smith are non existant in the passing game. We threw one rb screen to RW and we got good yardage and we did not attempt throwing him the ball again until 2 minutes were left in the game! Good job Stiney! Time for him to get back playing NCAA 2010 on his ps3 and figure out something else...

have to disagree...the D was shredded in the 2nd half....GT had the ball the entire 3rd quarter and most of the 4th

And our O was 3 and out when it did have the ball for basically the entire first 3 quarters of the game! LOL. I am not saying the d was not at fault, but this is still the offense's mess and the d is responsible for too much. Our d is intentionally undersized. We value speed over size. So our o has to get first downs and keep the d fresh. The time of possession problem you describe is our offense's fault for going 3 and out so many times...

The only reason we had that touchdown run in the 4th is because GTs defense backed off and played it safe when the game was pretty much won. Up by 2 possessions, they eased up and stopped pressuring Taylor. That allowed our offense to make some pass plays. Granted, the plays would probably have worked earlier, but Taylor looked a little spooked after having his passes batted down.

I question the playcalling in the first half. After a couple games of an hyped up offensive coordinator, this game went back to the old sleepy predictable ways. I don't know where the new OC went, but the old one reared his ugly head in time to set our offense up for failure.

This game was much of the same story as it was against Alabama. The Defense just can't play a 40 minute game. And why should they? If your offense can't stay on the field the defense cant' rest. If the defense isn't on the field, it means you are scoring and the other team can't score. To think that GT scored 28 points with 40 minutes of play, that is about 10 more minutes than the avg team has the ball during a given game. While the GT offense was successful, it could not have hurt VT to have a little success on the O side of the ball.

No D in the league can win the game for an entire team. And No D in the league can be successful when they play for 40 minutes.

The defense is going to get a lot of heat for this game and sure, they did have trouble stopping the triple option. But we knew GT has a prolific offense, it was on our 'O' to help keep them off the field and to score some points.

The problem with Stiney is that when things aren't going well, he completely clams up. Instead of opening up the playbook when things aren't working, he becomes more and more conservative.

After a few games of good offensive play calling, we all had our hopes up. But after 7+ years of sucktitude, things aren't suddenly going to change.

adam - I have to disagree with you. If we could have moved the freakin ball besides the last 5 minutes of the game maybe our defense wouldn't be on the field for 40 min a game against any decent opposing defense. BS in Blacksburg has to go! It seemed our sails deflated on offense after the tipped ball interception and Stnesspring hit panic mode (remember the Orange Bowl year before last). Look, our defense held Nesbit to 28 points and their offense to 360 yards - Florida State gave up 49 points and 532 yards! I still say our defense did as good of a job as they could with the offense walking on and then right back off of the field.

mettle, hokiej88, berry, braves,

You guys are great and personally I think VT needs to listen to your and my opinion.

It is one in the same. Stines I gave you WAYYY to damn much credit for the past few games because I felt like you
"learned" something.

Ha Ha Ha. How stupid was
I? And how smart is the Hokie Nation not to blame the defense on this shit?

Really? We all know you read this and lets be honest would not you feel better if we split the blame?

Stines you are soft and had no experience except for your wife being Franks sec.

I hope that was not your plan and you didn't pimp her out just to get your foot in the door.

Was that your plan Stines? Because if it was it worked. You got your job but at what cost?

I wonder?

Dave
